During the Columbus Blue Jackets against Dallas stars game, Dallas Stars player Rich Peverley collapsed on the bench in a seemingly cardiac arrest. The announcer of the game already informed that Peverley was taken to the nearest hospital and was already conscious when he arrived. According to the league officials, Peverley was doing and was already in stable condition.

In the middle of the game, players of Dallas Stars called for a paramedic to attend to the already unconscious Peverley. Peverley was only able to play 2 minutes and 35 seconds. When he returned for the shift, he collapsed in the bench. Dallas Stars' coach said that "when he dropped, it was red alert. Don't worry about the game. Don't worry about anything else. Just turn around and scream for a doctor."

To revive Peverley, he needed to be shocked by a defibrillator, and then he was given oxygen, and chest compressions. The doctor said that when Peverley knew he was in the hospital, he immediately told the doctor to release him because the game was still going on. The game was postponed by the league.

Prior to the incident, Peverley already missed several training camps because of erratic or irregular heartbeat. Because of the incident last Tuesday, Dallas Stars will be carefully monitoring Peverley's condition.

The game's rescheduling has not been announced by the league.
